If you’ve got a craving for something intoxicating and all at once bitter and refreshing, we have just the medicine. Spiegelworld’s Absinthe is set to tour Australia in conjunction with Nine Live.

Famed as having the ability to make even the most seasoned New York audience members “literally gasp” (at least according to one smart scribe over at The New York Times, and having been awarded Best New Show by none other than Las Vegas Weekly, Absinthe has garnered a reputation for being one of the most inventive, unique and fantastic shows in the world.

It goes without saying that a reputation like that doesn’t come easy in New York and Vegas, and you can rest assured our world-class cast of performers – whose skills include equilibristics, acrobatics, trapeze and good old-fashioned comedy – have earned it. This adult-themed cocktail of circus, burlesque and vaudeville really is all that and more.

And now you Aussies will finally have a chance to enjoy a heady drink of the 19th-century-inspired show that so many Yanks, including James Franco, Neil Patrick Harris and Pamela Anderson (to name but a few), have praised as Absinthe heads south for its first Australian tour.

So if you’re in Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney or Perth, brace yourself as Absinthe is set to seduce your city. Tickets are priced between $54 and $154 (excluding transaction fees), with options for those who like it lush and ringside to those looking for a little privacy – and there’s even room for the rowdy groups.

Here’s where we’ll be and when:

Newcastle, Wheeler Place – opens 17 February 2015

Melbourne CBD – opens 20 Mar, 2015

Brisbane, King George Square – opens 2 Jun 2015

Sydney CBD – opens 20 Oct 2015

Perth CBD – opens 5 Jan 2016

We highly recommend purchasing tickets sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment, and also to give you a reason to keep on trucking through the long, hot summer ahead. See you there Australia!
