ABSINTHE

Following several summer seasons in New York and a four-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Absinthe is pitching its spiegeltent in Australia in 2015.  Step inside and witness the most outlandish comedy and daring performances from the wildest cast ever to perform on stage. The 700-seat spiegeltent features a garden bar and the most intimate stage in town. So order a drink and don’t miss an unforgettable night out.

Getting there

Newcastle
Street parking available. Civic Railway Station is directly opposite the venue, over Hunter Street. Regular buses travel Hunter Street; call 131 500 for timetable enquiries.
Melbourne
Rooftop access via Level 3 – escalators opposite Village Cinemas at Crown Melbourne.

Sydney
Hyde Park is centrally located and only a short walk from St James, Museum and Town Hall Train Stations. Many buses service the inner city with all stops on roads surrounding Hyde Park offering very quick access to Absinthe. Running time

Absinthe runs for approximately 90 minutes with no interval.

Latecomers

Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break in the performance.

Age recommendation

Absinthe is recommended for ages 15 and above. The performance features some nudity and coarse language.

Photography

Audiences are welcome to take as many photos as they like, however flash photography is not permitted.

Box office hours

The on-site box office opens two hours prior to the first show of the day, and closes 30 minutes after the start of the final show of the day.

Food and beverages

The Spiegelworld Garden Bar opens one hour before the first show of the day and is open throughout the performance. The bar serves a range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with small snacks. The bar accepts cash, EFTPOS, Visa and MasterCard.

Miscellaneous

- The show contains flashing lights and haze effects.
- The tent is temperature controlled.
- There is no cloakroom available.
- Smoking is not permitted.
- Videotaping, flash photography and audio recording is prohibited.
- Animals are not permitted inside the tent; harnessed guide dogs are accepted.

Please note there are no hearing-assistance systems or hearing loops inside Spiegelworld.

Wheelchair access
Please call the Special Needs Booking Line to make a wheelchair booking.
There are two wheelchair bays in the tent, all located in A Reserve, Row H.

Limited mobility
The tent can be accessed with ramps and handrails, and no stairs to navigate.
Once inside Spiegelworld, all seating can be accessed via either ramps or shallow steps.

Facilities for visually impaired patrons
Harnessed guide dogs are permitted in Spiegelworld. The Special Needs Booking Line can make the best arrangements to suit any specific requirements.
